Rule 44
Voting Representative
(1) Candidates or election representatives may appoint one polling representative in each polling station for work related to voting in elections. But only one voting representative can be present in a polling station on behalf of a party and its candidate.
(2) A voting representative can be appointed to a person whose name is in the final voter list and who knows how to read and write in order to vote in the respective polling station.
(3) According to sub-rule (2), the information about the appointment of polling representative should be given to the concerned polling officer.
(4) The polling officer shall give an identity card to the voting representative appointed according to sub-rule (1). (5) It shall be the duty of the polling representative to assist in the peaceful completion of the polling process and to stamp the ballot papers to be prepared.
